It is expected that Miami Dolphins will increase a quarterback in the NFL draft of 2024, but they are expected to remain as their "next guy" with Scaller Thomson at this position -   The seventh round selection of the 2022 NFL Draft appeared in four games for dolphins last season. He completed 68.2 % 454 yards, a touchdown, and an intervention. Dolphins general manager Chris Gear said Thomson has "all tools" to become NFL's successful quarterback. He also said that in 2023 the dolphin "is very excited to see what he can do". However, Dolphin also knows that Thomson is a deceased and needs to be developed. They are expected to add experienced quarterbacks to their roster in the office season through a free agency or draft. 5.2 Magnitude Earthquake Rattles Southern California

Los Angeles, CA (August 7, 2024)

A powerful earthquake was felt in Southern California on Tuesday night, sending tremors across the region and triggering widespread alarm. The magnitude 5.2 earthquake was centered near Mettler in Kern County, about 85 miles northwest of Los Angeles, and was felt as far south as Orange County and as far north as the Bay Area.

The earthquake struck at 9:09 p.m. Local time according to the US Geological Survey (USGS). Its relatively shallow depth of 11.7 km added to the upheaval, causing many residents to wake up suddenly from their slumber. The main event was followed by several aftershocks, nerve-racking throughout the night.

Although the earthquake caused significant panic and widespread disruption, there were no immediate reports of major injuries or extensive structural damage. However, authorities continue to assess the situation and inspect buildings for potential hazards.

Social media platforms were flooded with accounts of the terrifying experience, with many residents sharing videos of flickering lights and moving objects. The quake's effects were particularly noticeable in the San Fernando Valley and Antelope Valley, where shaking was described as severe.

Emergency services responded quickly to the incident, with the fire department and law enforcement agencies on high alert. Power outages were reported in some areas, and transportation systems were delayed as a precaution.

California is no stranger to seismic activity, and this latest quake serves as a stark reminder of the region's vulnerability. Experts stress the importance of being prepared for future earthquakes, including stocking emergency supplies, developing evacuation plans, and securing homes and businesses.

As the community recovers from the earthquake's aftershocks, investigations into its cause and possible effects are ongoing. Seismologists will closely monitor the situation for any further seismic activity and analyze the data to better understand the event.
